Edinburg Fire Department Grows Apparatus Fleet with Two Toyne Pumpers
In the south Texas city of Edinburg, the community’s firefighters recently received delivery of two fully customized pumper apparatus that were built by Toyne Inc., an industry-leading fire apparatus manufacturer based in Breda, Iowa. - Both apparatus are mounted on a Spartan Metro Star LFD chassis with a 10-inch raised roof
- Power is supplied by the pumpers’ Cummins ISL9 engine, which is capable of producing 450 horsepower, and an Allison 3000 EVS transmission
- Equipped with a Waterous CSU 1500 pump and a Fire Research Pump Boss pressure governor, the apparatus can move water at 1,500 gallons per minute
