04.28.16
BREDA, Iowa - Another custom Toyne Pumper has made its way to New York. The Philmont Fire Company (Philmont, NY), which consists of over 60 volunteer firefighters, recently added their fifth apparatus, a custom bolted stainless steel pumper.
The Toyne side-mount pumper was built on a Spartan Glad EMFD 5” raised roof cab and chassis and is driven by a Cummins ISL450 engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission. To fight fires, their Toyne Tailored Apparatus features a Waterous CSUC20 1500 gpm pump, UPF 1250 gallon tank, and a Foam Pro 2001 Class A foam system. In the event that additional scene lighting is needed, Philmont’s new pumper is also equipped with Fire Research telescoping lights.
Philmont’s volunteer fire company was first introduced in 1896, and operates on a volunteer basis to this day. Fully trained in search and rescue, interior attack, extraction, ventilation, fire police, and much more, Philmont firefighters serve and protect over 1300 area residents.
