BREDA, Iowa - The Lemon Springs Volunteer Fire Department, which was founded in 1981 and is based in Sanford, NC, recently called on Toyne to engineer a new pumper for their growing fleet.
The Toyne Tailored Pumper is equipped to fight fires with a UPF 1,000 gallon tank and Waterous CS 1,250 gpm pump. For additional scene lighting, Lemon Springs’ Toyne is also equipped with Akron ELST 1000 telescoping lights, as well as a Harrison hydraulic 6K generator. The apparatus has been built on a Spartan Metro Star MFD 10” raised roof cab and chassis, and is powered by a Cummins ISL380 engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission.
Lemon Springs VFD works to protect a community of 28,518 residents, which covers 24 square miles. This includes the City of Sanford, North Carolina, which was incorporated in 1874, 31 years before Lee County was established.
