Innovative Toyne Pumpers to Be Showcased at FDIC 2023
Breda, IA (April 3, 2023) – FDIC International, one of the world’s largest fire and rescue conferences, is once again slated to draw huge crowds. Toyne, Inc., a fire apparatus manufacturer based out of Breda, Iowa will be showcasing two new, customized pumpers at the event, which takes place April 24-29 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.
The two apparatus being featured by Toyne at this year’s event include a pumper for the Burnt Hills Fire District (Burnt Hills, New York) and a pumper for the Iowa Fire Service Training Bureau (Johnston, Iowa). Both apparatus were built on a Spartan Metro Star chassis with a 10" raised roof and feature a Cummins ISL9 380 HP engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission.
Burnt Hills’ new Toyne Pumper features a welded stainless steel body, custom roll-out shelves, under-step storage, and storage for 9 SCBA bottles in the wheel wells. It is also outfitted with:
- Hale Qmax 1500 GPM Pump
- Class One TPG Pressure Governor
- Foam Pro 2001 Class A Foam System with 25 Gal. Foam Tank
- 1000 Gallon UPF Tank
- ICI SL Plus Tank Gauge
- Zico Hydraulic Porta-Tank Rack
The Iowa Fire Service Training Bureau’s new pumper was engineered with a bolted painted stainless steel body, hosebed rear slide-in hard suction storage, rear-mounted tow hooks, and a Zico hydraulic porta-tank rack. In addition, their rig includes:
- Waterous CS 1250 GPM Pump
- Fire Research Pump Boss Pressure Governor
- 1500 Gallon UPF Tank
- ICI SL Plus Tank Gauge
- Storage for 8 SCBA Bottles in Wheel Wells
- Rear Manual Swivel Dump Chute
