Amherst Fire Rescue Welcomes Second Toyne Apparatus to Strengthen Fleet
Amherst, NH (August 1, 2024) – Amherst Fire Rescue (AFR) is proud to announce the addition of a new Toyne Pumper to its fleet, enhancing the department's fire protection and emergency response capabilities. This latest acquisition marks AFR's second Toyne fire apparatus, reinforcing the town's commitment to maintaining highly effective and reliable emergency services.
Founded in 1728, Amherst is one of the few remaining New Hampshire communities with a population exceeding 10,000 that relies predominantly on a part-time/paid-on-call (volunteer) fire department. The introduction of the new Toyne Pumper in 2024 is a significant step forward in bolstering the department’s emergency response efficiency.
